2026 Carson Scholar
Mara was honored to be selected as a Carson Scholar. The committee shared the following message with her: “Your commitment to academics, leadership and serving others embodies the spirit of Carson Scholars and led to you being selected to join this network of like-minded students across the country.”
Mara is grateful to be part of this inspiring community of young leaders who believe that learning, compassion, and service can make a meaningful difference in the world. Through her work with Climb for Phoenix and other community initiatives, she hopes to continue using her voice and actions to help create a brighter future for others.

2026 Arizona MLK “Living the Dream” Awardee
Mara Northey was selected as a 2026 Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Living the Dream” Award recipient, an honor given to individuals who embody Dr. King’s ideals through personal commitment to human relations, social justice, and compassionate service.

2024 Spinato’s Kindness Challenge
In 2024, Mara was honored with recognition as part of the Spinato’s Kindness Challenge. This award recognized meaningful action and compassion in our community. In addition to winning pizza for a year, Spinato’s Pizzeria generously donated $1,500 worth of new shoes, attended the shoe giveaway night, and provided a pizza party for participants.
